Project Costing Specialist

Industry: Food and Beverage Processing and Manufacturing. Milling industry expertise is an advantage.About the Job:The Costing Specialist will provide expertize on Lump sum projects in both Greenfields and Brownfields projects that the company has been invited to cost for. Project costing shall include but will not be limited to manpower, installation equipment and tools, scaffolding, site operating equipment and other applicable material required for completing Installation and Commissioning of the project.Job Type:Ad-hocRequirements:Ability to visit existing site to determine project requirements during the RFQ processAbility to Read Mechanical and Electrical Drawings and understand the installation and commissioning requirements.Clear understanding of project timelines.Ability to understand project specific installation requirements outlined on clients procedures and conform to client and principal contractor preferences while being cost and timeline conscious.Ability to read and understand flow sheets encompassing multiple story plants or single story plant layouts.Clear understanding of plant operations and plant equipment in the food and beverage processing industry or the milling industry.Ability to understand the full RFI and RFQ Process.Clear understanding of division of work between client, principal contractor and subcontractor and ensure work carried out is costed effectively.Experienced at developing a comprehensive bill of quantities encompassing all project related costs.Ability develop a clear Methodology of Work Statements detailing daily, weekly and monthly schedules anticipated to be carried out in conjunction with the timelines outlined.Ability to cost short term projects in the absence of a written Statement of Work as and when applicable.Determining the installation tools required for the job and identifying consumables required to complete the projectIdentifying all Mobilization and Demobilization costs inclusive of travel, accommodation and sustenance allowance (Not limited to)Project Budget Planning clearly outlining planning, estimating and execution costsCompliance to deadlines on RFI and RFQ submissionsIdentify installation and commissioning targets and deadlines according to time schedules identified.Qualifications and Experience:Previous experience with Lump Sum project costingTertiary qualification in cost management or Project ManagementMilling or Food and Beverage industry expertiseClear understanding of commercial terms and condition
