Purpose of Position To provide a comprehensive Wellness mobile health service by providing HIV testing and counselling services linked to screening and diagnosing clients for TB/STIs.
Provision of treatment and clinical care to HIV & TB patients and ensure successful linkage to care and adherence with a specific focus on the sex worker.
Minimum Requirements Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor's degree (B. Cur)Qualification in community health nursing or primary health care will be an advantageMinimum of 3 years working experience in the public health care sector coupled with clinical management of TB and HIV after registrationNIMART trained & certifiedDispensing licenseRegistration with the South African Nursing Council as a professional nurseSound knowledge of TB/HIV data tools and systemsProficiency in English and another South African languageValid driver's licenseClear criminal recordDuties and Responsibilities Develop an outline of presentation in TB/HIV service provisionCoordinate visits and screenings to the sex work community on outreach with collaborating organisation teamMaintain relations with managers by providing feedback on the number of clients seen at sitesOrder monthly stock of medications needed for Wellness and HCT programmesConduct physical examinations and proper history taking on clients seen on the mobileProvide appropriate syndromic treatment for STIs, fertility planning and other health-related illnessesTrain to complete the PI VCT register and monthly report new casesCompile a record on the confirmed clinic the clients will attend and document referral or LTF using tools and algorithmRegular program in tracing clients by telephone, home visits or otherCollaborate with community role-players in engaging scaling up of TB/HIV service provisionMaintain relations with health services and other NGOs working to support the programAppropriate referral of all the necessary health-related conditions needed for further management - ART, psychosocial, substance abuse, gender-based violence, etc.Adhere to waste disposalAdhere to needle stick injury policyEngage in sex work support including helping coordinate and/or manage support groupsParticipate in sex work support meetings and structures as directed by the Key Populations Program ManagerSkills and Competencies Excellent knowledge of HIV, TB and STI prevention approaches and DoH screening guidelinesAn in-depth understanding and knowledge of legislative requirements, acceptable practices and proceduresHigh-level planning and organisational skillsGood communication skillsGood interpersonal skills, including being a team playerDemonstrate strong professional attitude and behaviour at all timesAbility to work non-traditional hours which may include weekends from time to timeKnowledge of statistics and reportingPolicy: We are committed to Employment Equity when recruiting internally and externally.
