We are looking for: A vibrant Product Manager to steer our product development journey. Take the lead in roadmap planning, connect with stakeholders, and keep the Engineering team on track. Dive into market trends, gather user insights, and make informed decisions. Manage the product backlog and ensure clear communication. We value your energy, communication finesse, and knack for aligning product goals with engineering efforts.
Requirements Responsibilities for this role are: Create and manage a roadmap for the company which clearly defines what is being built / going to be built with timelines - this should be accessible by Exco at any point in time.
Have regular stakeholder meetings to discuss and get input from HODs on what their product related needs are.
Conduct daily / weekly check-ins with the Engineering team to understand progress and drive timelines.
Provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress and changes to the roadmap.
Conduct regular market research into current and future trends in ticketing technology, both within the South African and broader global contexts.
Conduct user surveys and work with Customer Success to identify user needs for the product.
Regular interrogation of platform analytics to understand user behaviour trends and make suggestions accordingly.
Create detailed specifications (not necessarily technical) that can be given to the Engineering team to turn into a technical specification and finally work items that the team can work on.
In charge of the Product backlog - Communicating the Product goal, and determining what items the Engineers will work. It's important that they are involved at this level so they make sure things are kept on track and also understand blockers / changes.
Work with Communications Manager/Engineering and facilitate/drive documentation capturing. This includes both internal and external documentation.
The ideal person for this role has: Experience and Education
6-8 years' experience in leading a Product at a customer facing technology company (e-commerce/saas)
Experience with analytics products, e.g. GA, Mixpanel etc…
Experience with managing input and expectations of many stakeholders
Technical background, ideally in software development
