My client a leading and well known company based in Ottowa South, Durban requires a competent and experienced Procurement Specialist to join their team.CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB:The Procurement Specialist is responsible to manage the acquisition of goods and services necessary for the business to operate efficiently.The Procurement Specialist is tasked with analysing market trends, assessing supplier capabilities, implementing best practices to streamline procurement operations and support the business goals and objectives.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:Thoroughly analyse the products needed considering factors such as quantity specification, innovation, quality standards and delivery timelinesEnsure signed agreements in place with current and new suppliersRegularly compare the pricing, terms, and performance of current suppliers against industry benchmarks and competitorsLeverage negotiation skills and market knowledge to secure favourable pricing, discounts, or rebates from suppliersAnalyse the factors that influence the cost of the products or services managedReview open purchase orders, follow-up and resolve with the supplierQUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:A Bachelors degree in Business, Economics & Supply Chain ManagementAt least 5 years experience in a similar role within the print, packaging, manufacturing industryTechnical understanding of raw materials substrates/mediaDemonstrates strong ability to understand new material, substrates/mediaProven track record to drive competitive quality sourcing and cost savingHigh level business acumenExperience with importsMust be Criminal ClearMust be Credit ClearMust reside in the Greater Durban areaSA Citizens onlyBEHAVIOURS & ATTRIBUTES:Strong customer focus and understandingHigh level communication and negotiation skillsAttention to detailCritical thinking skillsTeam player
