InchcapeShippingServices Business Need / Purpose of Role The Operations Executive? reporting to the Country Manager, based out of Port Elizabeth, South Africa shall primarily be responsible to conduct port operations especially with regards to crew operations, immigration visa arrangements and crew transfers, enabling smooth transition of day-to-day documentation/operations and eventually accomplishing speedy turnaround of vessels in accordance with ISS QMS and under strict adherence to local rules and regulations. Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities Oversee crew operations and transfers. Manage Immigration and Visa arrangements. Boarding and handling vessel as per principal requirements in close co-ordination with main office and in accordance with QMS. Maintaining a good working relationship with the Immigration, Customs, Vendors, Port authority and Principal. Providing the Marine department with updated information on local rules, regulations, and changes as of when such notifications are received. Arranging crew medicals, shore passes, hot work permits for vessels etc. as per vessel / principal requirements in accordance with port procedures. Represent the client in all port and vessel related matters by checking, monitoring, and assisting them on the day-to-day operational jobs. Work collaboratively with all other operational staff ensuring all regulations are followed and that all port and cargo documentation is in order prior and after departure of vessel/s. Follow reporting procedures and keep the Operations manager updated on all activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.Being able to communicate verbally/writing in a clear and concise manner.Balance multiple tasks, changing priorities & operate within a deadline-oriented environment.Self-driven, organized, good communication skills.Strong planning and coordination skills.Have a global perspective and be progressive thinking. Education, Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses A relevant academic certificate would be appreciated.Understanding customs clearance requirements, including but not limited to customs declaration and manifesting. years' experience in a similar role within shipping and port operations is desirable.Conversant with the local immigration process and procedures.Having a valid driver's license.
