One of our clients in the Durban South Area require and experienced plumber: Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our team. The Plumber will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They must have a strong understanding of plumbing principles, codes, and regulations, as well as practical experience in plumbing installation and repair. Key Responsibilities: Installation: Install plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, fittings, and appliances, in new construction projects or renovation projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations. Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, such as leaks, clogs, and broken pipes, using appropriate tools and techniques. Perform routine maintenance and inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential problems and prevent future issues. Troubleshooting: Investigate plumbing problems reported by customers or building occupants, identify the root cause of the issue, and implement effective solutions to resolve the problem efficiently and effectively. Pipefitting: Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to fit specific project requirements, using pipefitter's tools and equipment. Install and connect pipes to fixtures, appliances, and water supply lines, ensuring proper alignment and functionality. Fixture Installation: Install and repair plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters, ensuring proper operation and functionality. Replace old or damaged fixtures with new ones as needed. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazards during plumbing installation and repair activities. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines at all times. Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and project managers, providing updates on work progress, explaining technical issues, and offering recommendations for repairs or upgrades. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional and courteous service. Qualifications: Proven experience as a plumber, with at least 5 years of experience in plumbing installation and repair. Thorough knowledge of plumbing systems, components, and materials, as well as plumbing codes and regulations. Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment, such as pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, soldering torches, and drain augers. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot plumbing issues effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to interact with customers and colleagues professionally. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks in various environments and conditions. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or vocational training in plumbing. Additional training or certifications in specialized areas of plumbing (e.g., gas fitting, backflow prevention) is a plus.
