An International Industrial Chemical Manufacturing Company requires the above to manage and support their Chemical Manufacturing Plant as well as manage their production, production planning, maintenance and site improvements.
Minimum requirements for the role:
A BSc degree or related qualification in Chemical Engineering or related is essential.
Previous experience having worked as a Production Manager or Supervisor in the Chemical or Pharmaceutical industries is essential.
The successful candidate must have a solid background in supply chain, manufacturing excellence, EHS and quality.
Previous project engineering experience would be an advantage.
The successful candidate must be a team player, confident, organised, and able to work under pressure.
The successful candidate must have strong leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate should have strong Excel and Microsoft Word skills as well as experience in SAP.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Organise production and production related functional requirements.
Manage the demand towards production related functions.
address conflicts, and escalate adequately.
Apply 3rd party management standards and manage Contractors.
Compile a report to the Operations Director and SCM with regards to the production related issues.
Manage and motivate a team of workers in all Departments under the Plant Manager’s control.
Have a good understanding of the OHS Act.
Liaise with different Departments, such as Purchasing, Quality Control and Warehousing and Distribution on a daily basis in order to perform the function effectively and efficiently.
Continuously monitor the yields and apply the appropriate actions to achieve improvements.
Ensure that safe work instructions and SOPs relating to the ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 systems are adhered to.
Ensure that a very high standard of housekeeping and the 5S philosophy is maintained.
Conduct PEMs as per the Company’s requirement and schedule as well as initiate and manage the continuous improvement projects.
Manage and oversee industrial relations issues within the Departments in conjunction with HR Manager.
Ensure legal and statutory guidelines are at all times adhered to as well as the license to operate.
