Pharmacist

Description:

A vacancy exists for a Pharmacist based at Life The Glynnwood Hospital, reporting to the Senior Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards.

Critical Outputs

Effective medication safety management.

Dispensing of medication as well as performing of on call, weekend and public holiday duties

Perform daily ward rounds with medical specialists – Medical and Renal Units

Participate in the implementation and compliance to LHC Quality management systems.

Ensure compliance with SAPC, DOH and LHC legal and professional standards.

Delivery of strong service orientation towards patient, nursing and medical customers

Financial and Cost Management – implement LHC formulary decisions as well as product conversions to support cost containment.

Build effective working relationships with doctors.

Participate in achieving stock targets.

Achieve optimal system utilisation.

Requirements

Pharm with relevant clinical knowledge and experience in hospital environment

Current registration with South African Pharmacy Council

Understanding of pharmacy and related healthcare industry, legislation, regulation and challenges

Knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation

Pharmaceutical product knowledge

Computer literacy is essential
