The role involves providing legal and administrative support to leasing and property management teams.
Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and managing lease agreements, ensuring compliance with South African property, commercial, and pharmacy-related laws.
The role also involves maintaining accurate legal documentation, supporting regulatory filings, and liaising with landlords, tenants, and legal professionals to ensure smooth lease execution and alignment with leasing mandates.Minimum RequirementsEssential:Grade 12 / MatricCertificate or Diploma in Paralegal or related field3 – 5 years' experience in a legal or leasing environmentExperience in lease financial calculations, including Present Value (PV) scenarios and comparisonsAdvantage:Degree in Law (LLB)Certification in contract management, procurement or financial analysisExperience in property law, real estate or leasingJob ResponsibilitiesLease Administration and DocumentationDraft, review, and amend lease agreements, including offers to lease, addendums, renewals, and letters of intentEnsure lease agreements comply with legal standards and internal policiesReview landlord agreements and recommend changes according to employer mandatesTrack lease expirations, renewals, and maintain accurate recordsOperate the employer's lease management systemLegal and Compliance SupportMonitor lease obligations and compliance issuesEnsure adherence to legal standards and industry regulations, including SAPCResearch legal matters related to property leasing and prepare summariesDraft legal notices and correspondenceCoordinate with external attorneys and participate in lease negotiationsRegulatory AdherenceAssist with legal and regulatory documentationStay updated on relevant laws such as POPIA and CPAEnsure lease compliance with applicable legislationAdministrative SupportSupport the Operations Director and leasing teamMaintain logs of lease-related matters and coordinate with stakeholdersHandle confidential information and support departmental efficiencyCompetenciesEssential:Understanding of South African property law and leasing principlesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skillsAbility to interpret lease terms and assess risksEffective communication and interpersonal skillsQuality orientation, leadership, self-management, and technical skillsSpecial ConditionsSouth African citizenMIE, clear criminal and credit checksDriver's license and reliable transportOccasional travelRemuneration and BenefitsMarket-related salaryMedical aid, provident fund, staff accountNote: Only successful applicants will be contacted.
