We are looking for an "out-of-the-box thinker" who can easily spot and identify flaws and create solutions to improve designs.
A top-class packaging designer should be able to analyze market trends and create product packaging that is both eye-catching and functional.
Someone with a creative flair and a strong ability to collaborate with multiple role-players.
The ideal candidate should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into designs (using illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos) for online advertising, marketing, product catalogues, packaging, and more.
Job Responsibilities :

Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with management, marketing, and sales on various materials including packaging, web designs, presentations, collateral, catalogues, signage, branding, and marketing materials.
Study design briefs to determine requirements and prepare rough drafts for presentation and feedback.
Translate strategic directions into high-quality designs within an established brand identity.
Use trend intelligence and understanding of current and historical market data to design and execute effective visual content.
Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in industrial design, graphic design, art, or a similar field is advantageous.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in retail as a Packaging Designer or Graphic Designer.
Knowledge of digital photography and imaging.
Advanced computer literacy.
Proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Suite, CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, and related design programs.
Skills and Experience :

Natural talent for design and style with a keen eye for detail.
Background in power tools and accessories is an advantage.
Proficiency with Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and Illustrator.
Effective time and project management skills to meet tight deadlines.
Understanding of marketing, new product packaging design, corporate and brand identity, multimedia advertising, and copywriting.
Ability to verbally communicate creative ideas effectively.
Photo editing, shoot planning, and photography skills.
Valid driver's license and own transport.
Residence near Midrand or Centurion is preferred.
A portfolio of work will be required.
