Directorate: NURSING SERVICES (CLINICAL SUPPORT FBU, MEDICAL EMERGENCY UNIT)Number of Posts: 1Package: R 520.560.00.00 PER ANNUM (ALL INCLUSIVE)Requirements:Basic R425 qualification (i.e., Diploma or Degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.Current registration with the South African Nursing Council.A minimum of seven (7) years appropriate/recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.One year post basic qualification in Health Services Management/ Nursing Administration registered with SANC.Computer literacy (i.e., Ms Word, Power Point).Exposure in working in Emergency department as a Professional Nurse.Competencies/Knowledge/Skills: Leadership, ward management/ward administration, planning, organizing, co-ordination, and communication skills.
Ability to take charge and make appropriate independent decisions.
Display empathy for patients, promoting advocacy and facilitating holistic treatment and care.
Knowledge of administrative policies and guidelines.Duties:Supervise and evaluate quality of nursing care as directed by Professional scope of practice and set nursing standards within professional/legal framework.Implement nursing legislation and related framework and ethical nursing practices.Develop/establish and maintain constructive relationships with nursing and other stakeholders (i.e., inter-personal, inter-sectoral and multi-disciplinary teamwork).Participate in training, research and self-development.Understanding of Ideal hospital framework version 2.0, PFMA, Labour relations and other relevant legislative frameworks.Manage effective utilization and supervision of human, financial and material resources.Prepared to do night duty, weekends, public holiday and relieve the supervisor when required.Perform duties as an Operational Manager in accordance with the scope of practice, demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisor and other health professionals and junior colleagues.Management of personnel performance and review thereof (Contracting, Midterm review and final assessment).Notes:Applications should be uploaded online at www.gautengonline.gov.za or http://professionaljobcentre.gpg.gov.za.
