Requirements A National Senior Certificate is essentialDegree / Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing is essentialCertificates in Audiology, Spirometry and Vision Screening are essentialA valid Dispensing course certificate is essentialIt is essential to be in possession of a valid driver's licence and insured vehicleMust be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Occupational Health PractitionerValid registration with the South African Society of Occupational Health Nurses (SASOHN) is essentialMinimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in Occupational Health Nursing is essentialHave a good understanding of the Health & Safety Act and relevant legislationProficiency in MS Office/365 Duties & Responsibilities Administrative duties such as scanning and responding to clients' queries timeously.Implement and execute a risk-based medical surveillance program to identify health risks early.Must be willing to be on Standby for after hour IODs.Monitoring & managing of chronic conditions to ensure compliance with treatment to positively affect productivity.Consultation, counselling, and/or referral of employees when needed.Promote wellness in the workplace by conducting frequent health education talks with site employees.Implement & manage a medical waste programme.Complete and report on return-to-work assessments.Ordering stock and equipment, as well as monitoring inventory.Provide a consultancy and advisory service to line management and client employees on occupational health matters.Monitor and analyse health trends and the reporting thereof.Identify trends related to specific hazard exposures and ensure preventative measures are implemented.Ensure good housekeeping and maintenance of the clinic and occupational health service equipment.Investigate client queries within the agreed service level and ensure that client receives timeous feedback and escalate client queries to the relevant department or stakeholder.Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within the area of responsibility.
