We have an opportunity available in Johannesburg for a Northbound Road Controller.
Candidates are expected to perform the following responsibilities:
Co-ordinate and plan all locally procured cargoes and road freight to DRC for in-gauge and out of gauge (abnormal) cargoes.Co-ordinate and plan import RIT & RIB clearance for sea freight shipments.Monitor shipments to ensure that containers do not incur demurrage costs.Liaise with various Suppliers / LSP to ensure timely upliftment of cargo.Plan loads and maximize truck capacity to ensure deadlines are met.Book trucks and send out pre-alerts timeously.Arrange Marine Insurance / surveyor inspection when required.Track all shipments and update reports accordingly.Monitor POD and send to clients as proof of receipt.Ensure accuracy and timeline of RFQ.Ensure all payments to LSP are done within 15 days upon receipt of full documents.Request and check all new supplier required documents.Ensure all documents for all shipments are uploaded and saved on Share Point, with hard copies kept where necessary.Complete processing of contracts until signed by both parties.Timely and efficient resolution of all queries.Maintain timely and efficient response times.Candidates need to have at least a college education background; additional qualifications in supply chain management will be preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in the logistics field and an understanding of various shipping Incoterms are required.
Candidates should possess:
Geographical knowledge of Southern Africa and the import/export process.Proficiency in MS Office (particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint).Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.Efficiency when working in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in data analysis for planning.Basic salary of between R 30,000.00 to R 35,000.00 is on offer and negotiable, with benefits to be discussed.
