The Mechanical Technician together with other technicians will be expected to provide process and technical support to the machine crews. The person will support production within the Diaper and Femcare operation by providing ongoing mechanical support and specialist support to the operations teams in order to maintain and optimize asset process stability. You will develop crew’s process knowledge to achieve safety, quality and productivity targets.
The ideal candidate must come from a high speed production equipment industry
The incumbent must be flexible to work shifts, work on a rotational standby basis and offer after-hours support based on business requirements
You will carry out action plans as directed in order to solve problems thereby minimizing mechanical delay.
You will analyze mechanical delay and together with other technicians resolve problems of mechanical nature to ensure minimum delay.
Assist with change over’s on the asset in order to minimize change over delay
You will assist with maintenance activities on all mechanical equipment and installation, machine daily health checks, work on maintenance shuts and inspections
To ensure that mechanical spares are available and ready for use when required.
A minimum of N4 and a trade test Fitter / Fitter and Turner OR N6 /National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years’ experience on high-speed production equipment
Prior high-speed production machine maintenance or operating experience, especially on Diaper machines will be advantageous.
The incumbent must be computer literate.
