We are the world's leading primary producer of PGMs, which have a range of specialised applications that improve lives across the world – from vehicle fuel cells to jewelry; dentistry to glassmaking; pacemakers to petroleum refining.Job DescriptionJob responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Assist operations personnel to implement agreed guidelines, rules and recipe for the plantAudit compliance to "recipe" and liaise with plant personnelProvide/liaise with external resources to conduct agreed plant surveys/audit processesManage metallurgical talent assigned to technical function in own areaRecommend technical corrective action to operation's production personnelMonitor, trend, interpret, and report plant Key Process Parameters for discussion with central technical structureIdentify ongoing potential areas for plant process improvementIdentify key performance shortfalls and liaise/communicate with central technical functionTroubleshoot and resolve operation problems within plant operating "recipe"Ongoing support to plant production team to achieve operational goalsFacilitate technology transfer from centreProject execution of agreed audit work & plant surveys (plant diagnostics)Provide detailed analyses of process control/plant performance relationshipsProcess improvement initiativesPlant optimization within recipeIdentify ongoing capital requirements for plantsEffective technical operation of the plantIdentifying new methods to improve the section's technical processGood employee relationsAdministration of the relevant technical systemsSupport the overall operational management of the plant.This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Technical Processing.QualificationsChemistry, Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy degree/DiplomaExperience5 years or more post qualification Plant experience in metallurgy development projects and line managementKnowledge and SkillsComputer literacy for the roleEnglish literateValid driving license code B or EBAdditional InformationWho We AreWe aim to lead the industry by pursuing ever safer and more responsible ways of working, demonstrating integrity and showing care and respect for people and the planet.
