For our client we are looking to recruit a Mechanical Superintendent.
Organisatie
Enforce EHS Plan, Baustellenordnung and other applicable EHS Project documentation at Site.
Coordinate and control the safe execution of all work performed by the Mechanical Subcontractor(s) working within the assigned Piping Systems/Areas on the project, also in cooperation with the SiGe coordinator
Enforcing the Emergency Procedures, if necessary.
Functie
Be the prime interface with Mechanical Subcontractor’ supervisors and foremen;
Review and approve Mechanical Subcontractor(s) Method Statements and Risk Analysis (RAMS) for the works.
Perform Work Permits reviews relevant to piping installation matters and to the fulfillment of Work Permit conditions requirements (e.g. LOTO, etc.).
Attend Subcontractor’ and project Site EHS meetings, Toolbox meetings and initiate corrective actions on weaknesses where identified;
Participate in all area safety assessment regularly scheduled or dictated by circumstances.
Provide constructability input to ensure that design can be installed safely and easily;
Ensure adequate access including scaffolding (if required) is available before a work activity commences;
Read work instructions, drawings and/or schematics to interpret and confirm production and/or assembly information.
Supervises the Mechanical Subcontractor(s) in all construction-related work activities and assigned field functions and/or crafts involved within the assigned Piping systems/Areas on the project.
That Mechanical Subcontractor(s) use adequately qualified personnel and they are in sufficient number; promptly advise in negative case.
Maintain Project standards for quality of all piping, equipment and machinery works under his responsibility in accordance with the design documents and specification.
Ensure that Subcontractor(s) working within the mechanical disciplines adhere strictly to the latest Approved for Construction (AFC) project drawings, Specifications, ITP’s, Procedures and Site Instructions.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Construction Manager and, as directed, discard products, materials, and/or equipment which do not meet specifications.
Work with Subcontractor(s) to complete project within the given budget and schedule.
Carry out progressive punch listing to ensure that the works are completed to the fullest extent possible prior to acceptance and perform final inspections (e.g. line checking) and verify and sign off satisfactorily completed Discipline Punch List items and System Punch List items
Verify that proper notification of inspection has been given to the inspecting parties
Supervise the piping spools and/or equipment and/or systems testing operations and ensure all hazards associated with testing have been identified and appropriately eliminated or mitigated.
Review and verify completeness and quality of the QC and As-Built documentation produced by the Mechanical Subcontractor(s)
Actively cooperate with the appointed CTOP Engineers in expediting with the Mechanical Subcontractors the submittal of all the turn-over packages QC documentation for turnover purposes.
Plan and participate in acceptance testing (e.g. pressure testing) of supplies and services from Subcontractors
Monitor, in collaboration with Field Project Control Team, the progress of the assigned Subcontractor(s) in relation to Equipment installation, piping prefabrication, installation, testing, pre-commissioning and associated activities.
Functie-eisen
You have obtained a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equal by experience.
15+ years’ experience in Construction Management in large and medium projects as Mechanical/Piping Superintendent or Area Construction Manager (Pharma experience highly desirable).
Mechanical systems pre-commissioning/commissioning experience desirable.
Turnaround / Shut-Down experiences required.
Good written and verbal communication skills in both, English and German Language.
Turnaround / Shut-Down experiences desirable.
Fully conversant with international Safety standards and relevant experience with Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
Knowledge of pipefitting and mechanical equipment inspection.
Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions, Specifications, multidisciplinary drawings (piping isos, equipment, structural, electrical schemes, civil, etc.) and schematics (i.e. P&IDs, Flow Diagrams, etc.).
Fully conversant with European Piping Quality standards, codes and industry practices.
Microsoft office package (Excel, Word, Project & Outlook) user.
