MCIS seeks to appoint a Primary Maths Trainer, based in Gauteng. Maths Centre model requires to deliver On-Line support. You will need to develop efficiency and effectiveness in this as remote teaching and learning is new to the vast majority of our teachers and learners.
Responsibilities:
Support and development of Mathematics teachers
•Conduct teacher development workshops through cluster forums, subject forums and class visits
•Support teachers to develop holistic in-service training programmes in their schools
•Train Teachers on the use of learning resources
•Train Lead teachers and support them to facilitate workshops in their respective clusters
•Develop material for teachers workshops
•Work collaboratively with Subject Advisors to implement teacher development activities
Enhance Learner performance in Maths
•Conduct afternoon classes for grade 6 and 7s where necessary
•Implement MCIS initiatives that enhance learner performance
•Develop material for Learners workshops
Tests, Baseline & workshop evaluation administration
•Conduct and analyse Base Line Assessment
•Plan and conduct workshops based on diagnostic outcome
•Conduct Pre and post-tests as well as summative assessment (teachers & Learners)
•Conduct and analyse evaluations for all workshops, classroom visits and training
Data management and Report writing
•Compile project database as per project requirements
•write reports as and when required (end of term & adhoc)
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure maximum participation
•Market the project to all relevant stakeholders (Learners, Teachers, SMT, district and circuit and Parents)
•Plan and implement advocacy campaign relating to the project
•Develop and Maintain working relationship with all stakeholders (to enable co-operation, collaboration & efficient flow of Communication)
Job Requirements:
•M+ 3 qualification in Mathematics or equivalent qualification
•Two to three years’ experience teaching Mathematics in the Primary
•Computer literacy (MS Office package)
•Language requirements; English and Zulu
•SACE registration
•Valid driver’s license
•Own car with comprehensive insurance
•Extensive travelling
