Role Description
We are seeking a motivated Marketing Assistant at our Johannesburg Office to support the Marketing Manager in executing marketing operations across campuses and online.
The role involves campaign coordination, supplier and agency liaison, social media briefings, events, and administrative tasks.
This is a hands-on role that ensures consistent brand execution across all platforms.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Marketing & Campaign Coordination
Assist with planning, briefing, and executing print, digital, and event campaigns.
Track timelines and deliverables; follow up with stakeholders.
Maintain a central marketing calendar for campaigns, events, and content.
Support data collection and feedback for campaign reporting.
Request quotes and manage production with suppliers.
Coordinate with social media and digital agencies.
Ensure timely, on-brand supplier deliverables.
Campus & Online Execution
Ensure consistent marketing implementation across Cape Town, Johannesburg, and online platforms.
Coordinate on-site logistics for events and activations.
Event & Activation Support
Assist with logistics and execution of Open Days, exhibitions, and recruitment events.
Provide hands-on event support including set-up, pack-down, and student advisor assistance.
Prepare and track branded materials; assist with post-event reporting.
Administrative & Departmental Support
Organize marketing files, folders, and image banks.
Monitor the marketing inbox and manage queries.
Assist with invoice tracking and supplier payments.
Compile reports and presentations.
Support CRM lead entry and follow-ups.
Social Media & Communication Support
Liaise with the social media agency for briefings and content delivery.
Respond to or escalate social media queries.
Collect content such as testimonials, images, and event highlights.
Create occasional content for internal campaigns or projects.
General
Maintain brand integrity and positive supplier relationships.
Attend relevant training sessions and complete admin duties.
Participate in weekly marketing content meetings, monthly marketing committee meetings, and event committee meetings.
Prepare meeting materials and complete action items within agreed timeframes.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
1–2 years' experience in marketing support or coordination.
Familiarity with agency briefing, events, social media, and supplier coordination.
Code 08/EB driver's license and own vehicle (essential).
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Familiarity with digital marketing, branding, and content coordination.
CRM understanding and stakeholder relationship management.
Knowledge of social media scheduling and campaign support.
