Let me fetch the job description for you...MARINE TECHNICAL UNDERWRITERLocation: JohannesburgDescription:The candidate must be experienced in the processing and production of all insurance documentation and well-versed in all Marine classes including Cargo, Goods In Transit, Stock Throughput, Hull & Machinery, Leisurecraft, Marine Liabilities, and Facultative Placements.The role includes underwriting risks and performing tasks with limited supervision on moderate to complex technical placements in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow through with underwriting policies and procedures, rating rules, and adherence to insurance laws and regulations.Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:At least 3-5 years Marine ExperienceAbility to work independentlyTime ManagementStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, takes initiative and pays attention to detailAbility to exercise independent judgment and make sound underwriting decisionsExisting Market Relationships and a great communicator who can work with people at all levelsSales experience, following up on leads and well-versed in the New Business process
