We are looking for a motivated Assistant Fitter to join our team as our Service team in in the Northern Cape.
The role will report into the Service Operations Manager - Norther Cape the role will be based from our offices in Kathu, Northern Cape.
Purpose of the role: To support Sandvik Service Technicians in the execution of their service, repair and inspection responsibilities at customer sites.The job responsibilities: Organize tools for the service and repair of equipmentCleaning of equipment and tools after servicing and repair of equipmentAssist the service technician with the servicing and inspections of screens and feedersProvide effective feedback on condition of equipment and tools, as well as possible breakages of tool losses.Assist with the cleaning and upkeep of company vehiclesAssist the service technician with the moving of tools to and from work locations.Responsible for personal safety and safety of all the teams he/she will be working with on different jobs and different sites.Responsible for safe work environment by contributing to job safety analysis, engineering technical standards, facility standards and work practices.Qualifications & Experience Requirements Grade 12 certificateMechanical background with some learning towards completing a mechanical qualification (advantageous)2 years' experience in a mechanical maintenance position within the mining industryOther Requirements & Competencies Knowledge in Crushing or Screening operations in both surface and underground mining will be advantageousStrong health and safety focusReading and writing skills will be essentialAble to take instructions well and work within a team environmentGood understanding of the requirements for the service, repair and inspections of screens and feeders.A strong preference for mechanical repairs and maintenanceAbility to work under harsh environmental conditionsMust be trustworthy and responsibleMust be physically fit and able to move heavy tools and equipment to elevated positions using stairs.Able to pass the typical medical requirements of the mining industryWhat is in it for you?
