RESPONSIBILITIESMaintenance technicians should have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and/or other relevant technical systems. Computer and Networking skills would be an advantage. This must include skills such as troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.Prior experience in maintenance work is preferred. This could include experience gained through previous jobs, internships, apprenticeships, or vocational training programs.Maintenance technician candidates need to be able to identify issues with equipment or systems, diagnose the root cause of problems, and develop effective solutions. Strong problem-solving skills are therefore essential.Maintenance work involves working with intricate systems and machinery, so attention to detail is crucial to ensure that repairs and maintenance tasks are performed accurately and safely.Candidates must be familiar with safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries while working with potentially hazardous equipment or in hazardous environments.Maintenance technicians often need to communicate with other team members, supervisors, and external vendors or contractors. Customer Satisfaction skills and communication with the customer are essential.
