Challenge is to achieve an effective balance between supporting LMP activities (upstream) and sales activities (downstream) as both are vital to ensure business continuity.Other internal and external constraints include evolving TotalEnergies safety requirements regarding raw materials, an uncertain SA regulatory environment, and a non-technical support base with high turnover.ActivitiesAn incumbent in this role would be responsible for:
Continuously updating and managing the lubricants product range and services to meet local and regional market demands, based on the TMSA roadmap and changing market conditions.Staying abreast of technical developments by attending conferences and exhibitions, including relevant SAIT events.Planning future product needs in advance for both local production and importation.Managing the product lifecycle within the lubricants technical team via the UMDS process, including trial blends, label updates, code creation, SDS implementation, closures, and product rationalization.Ensuring routine downstream quality monitoring and advising on deviations and corrective actions.Assisting with digitalizing lubricants technical processes within Microsoft Office 365 with support from local IT.Delivering the lubricants roadmap concerning product range modifications and implementing these changes.Supporting sales teams in delivering new products and services to maintain a competitive edge.Striving to reduce product costs to enhance market competitiveness.Ensuring technical services related to lubricants are conducted professionally, accurately, and timely, including product recommendations, site audits, oil analysis interpretation, technical support documentation, product launches, and training.Extending these services to all TotalEnergies employees, customers, and prospects, focusing on sales staff, call centers, business support, marketing, and LMP.Helping sales understand customer needs and educating them on product ranges and applications, including communication on product changes.HSEQ Adhering to and complying with company HSEQ and security standards, including Golden Rule and Near Miss reporting, to minimize risks to assets and personnel.Ensuring raw materials use complies with TotalEnergies safety rules.Monitoring and notifying SDS teams of SDS requirements.Ensuring products meet specifications and updating them as needed.Overseeing customer product complaints to resolve disputes professionally and promptly in collaboration with relevant teams.
Candidate ProfileTo qualify, applicants must have:
An appropriate engineering degree (Chemical or Mechanical preferred; BEng, BSc, or equivalent).3-5 years of experience in a technical role within the lubricants or lubrication industry.Some sales experience is advantageous.Experience in application, complaints, product development, and oil analysis.Excellent knowledge of products and their potential industrial applications.Good knowledge of TMSA and competitor products.
