Main Purpose of Job
An exciting opportunity has come forth for Mill Logistics Manager for K-C Epping facility, this role is accountable for the management, control, recording and reporting of all material and finished goods movements, from the port of entry via the 3PL to Epping through to dispatch and back to 3PL. The Mill Logistics Team is the primary mill interface with the KCSA Supply Chain Team and outsourced logistics service provider. The team is accountable for supporting the Operations Team with all relevant production data. As an FMT member, the Mill Logistics Manager will be required to support the delivery of mill KPI’s in the areas of Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Compliance and Cost of Manufacture.
Main responsibilities:
Manages the logistics and engineering stores functions at the Epping facility. Creates and environment of continuous improvement through empowerment, education and training within the team. Interacts closely with all functional areas, including Production, Quality, EHS, Finance, Planning, Procurement, Distribution and Engineering. Logistics compliance to EHS/Quality/LSW/5S standards and audits Ensures CFI and internal control standards are adhered to, clean audits with no major findings and any deviations promptly addressed. Develops and implements best practice management based on Lean Practices in areas of responsibility. Manage import containers from port into storage and prevent demurrage Effectively liaises with the third-party operators of our finished goods/materials storage and handling facilities, retaining responsibility for all movements from the port to the 3rd party and movements between Epping and the 3rd Party. Manages inventory levels at Epping, ensuring the correct stock levels are maintained to ensure a 100% service to operations.
Required Qualifications / Experience
Minimum M+3 equivalent degree, preferably in a logistics/supply chain discipline preferably including SAPICS accredited.
Extensive experience preferably in FMCG manufacturing/logistics/distribution/inventory management environment with 5 years at a team or functional leadership level.
Good working knowledge of a modern ERP systems, preferably SAP R3.
Sound knowledge of all elements of MRP, including BOM, production recording processes and cost management/budget control.
Proven team leadership experience.
Ability to work collaboratively with multi-dimensional and functional teams within the facility and across the business.
