We currently have the above vacancy and wish to invite suitably qualified applicants to submit their details for our consideration. This position will be based in Durban, KZN. A proven track record and substantial logistics and supply chain experience in the Retail Wholesale or FMCG or Consumer Goods industry will be the ideal and essential fit.REQUIREMENTS:A Bachelor Degree focused on Logistics, Materials and Supply Chain Management (B. Com); a post graduate qualification in Supply Chain and Logistics will be an advantage.At least 3 to 8 years related work experience in a FMCG / Retail / Consumer Goods warehouse environment is essential.Experienced and skilled in Warehouse Management (WMS) systems and Project planning.Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.Experience with delivery route planning and relevant route planning systemsStrong operations professional focused on continuous improvement.Skilled in negotiations (unionised environment), management and project management.Demonstrate a history of working in the logistics and supply chain industry.Must be organised, able to prioritise, work long hours and be able to work under pressureRESPONSIBILITIES:Management and Leadership:Provide staff with clear direction in their jobs through individual / team objective setting.Identify development needs of staff, plan for support ways to meet them.Provide specific, constructive performance feedback to staff at regular intervals.Recognise, appreciate and use unique talents of each person.Acknowledge and reinforce positive results / behaviours of others at every opportunity.Develop and/or participate in the development of the supply chain strategy for the organisation.Direct, coordinate, assign, monitor and review the work of individuals engaged in supply chain related duties.Achievement and Action:Make rapid, responsible decisions and implement required actions immediately.Achieve your objectives by allowing yourself and others to take calculated risks and learn from mistakes rather than delaying decision making unnecessarily.Always finish decision making with a committed action plan to implement thoroughly.Provide appropriate people with relevant information promptly so that better decisions can be made and implemented as quickly as possible.Use resources effectively without waste and control costs.Manage pressure of work effectively to maintain appropriate level of performance.Interpersonal Relationships:Ask for, encourage and show sensitivity for the opinions and ideas of others.Express opinions in a constructive and assertive way but without dominating others.Resolve conflict promptly and attempt to achieve a "win-win" resolution.Communicate clearly and completely, both written and orally.Influence others by emphasising common interests, create mutually beneficial alliances through an understanding of the positions / feelings of others and organisational realities.Analytical Thinking:Monitor and analyse current trends in the marketplace.Break down a complex task into manageable parts in a systematic way.Recognise several likely causes of events or several consequences of actions to see the big picture.Control important work through well- developed processes.Teamwork and Co-operation:Contribute to the important objectives of the team.Keep other team members informed of relevant issues and timeously.Build team spirit, help others and openly acknowledge teamwork and co-operation.Service Quality:Achieve the appropriate balance between quantity, quality and cost effectiveness.Provide services that are perceived to give "value for money".Clearly identify customer requirements and deliver what you promise.Lead and manage production planning, customer service purchasing, inventory control, forecasting and transportation.Understand customers needs, service those needs and maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customersKey personnel involved in or directly relevant to supply chain activities.Innovation and Initiative:Identify and manage risk within the supply chain.Develop and implement new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning and other optimizations in order to grow the business.Address tactical and strategic supply chain issues.Find better ways to do things without being asked.Question the way things are done and make suggestions for improvement.Look for creative solutions to difficult problems.Seek and propose new opportunities to enhance effectiveness.Flexibility:Modify your behaviour to accommodate the particular situation.Influence others who are resistant to change to recognise the benefits of changing.Anticipate change and proactively seek to build on the opportunities of change.Self-management:Plan and manage your time effectively.Take personal responsibility for all your decisions and actions.Be proactive to resolve problems.Maintain appropriate level of technical / professional knowledge and keep skills up-to-date.Take responsibility for self-development, initiate and implement development plans.Application process:
