Our Client a beautiful five star Lodge set on the shores of the Indian Ocean is now looking to fill a vacancy for a Lodge Manager
Salary – R14 000 – apply below CTC
After Probation period of 3 months - Cost to Company Medical Contribution R500 per month and provident fund of 3,5% Employee Contribution and 5,5% Company contribution
Work Schedule – 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off
Live-In – accommodation, meals, and laundry provided, drinks charged at staff price
REQUIREMENTS:
Hospitality Diploma or tertiary qualification in Hotel Management
Computer Literate – Pastel /Micros / Opera/SEMER property management system/EXCEL/ Microsoft Office
English speaking, fluent in written and spoken English
Zulu (Speak) – certainly a great benefit
Driver’s License valid PDP essential
Valid First Aid Certification
South African Citizen
Physically fit, sober habits and in good health

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
Previous work experience of at least 5 years in management roles in related lodge environments.
Management experience in a luxury lodge environment
Experienced in managing such a large and diverse and intense property
The focus of Guest experience delivery from each department
Systematic and strong with protocols
Use to a reporting system and presenting month end packs to Operations
An understanding of budget control and financial management and planning for the future of the lodge
Basic maintenance & vehicle skills & knowledge certainly required to run the logistics of this self-sustainable remote lodge & supervise the maintenance manager.
HR and payroll functions of the lodge
Hands-on staff management and staff disciplinary process
Delicately manage community staff and drive the development/upliftment process of those selected employees
An eye for detail and good all-rounder in all aspects of the hotel – food/ beverage/ housekeeping/ front office
Experience and ability to train staff
Reservations and front office administration & practices
A benefit to having a love for the ocean, experience in scuba diving or boating. Will need to supervise the Marine Department through the Skipper and Dive Master
TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Front of House Hospitality Manager/Reservations/Reception
bookings are done at Head Office, therefore, Lodge just to update the lodge sheet with current details & work the reservations from paper to arrival to departure
Housekeeping
Communicating with HODs on bookings information,
Finance, Admin, Stock Controls & Stocktaking
HR
General Duties
Curio Shop
orders, stock control, stocktaking
check the variety of stock and track sales prices, offer special to get stock moving
