The incumbent will report to Library & Information Resources Manager and should be familiar with a library management system, have experience in repairing books, and show attention to detail.
Key responsibilities will include: -
Processing which includes 1st level processing of media (stamping, insert date slips, barcodes), data capture, including lost and recovered books and book repairs.
Administration: Circulations duties as required. Control of book binding/strengthening. Control lost and or damaged books (invoicing & collections). Assist with notices, displays, laminating, photocopying, scanning and printing. Maintain the current affairs notice board. Maintain discipline. Assist with annual stock-take. Assist with media exhibitions and other community events.
Audio-visual: - Prepare term booking sheets. Control of AV stock and repairs and maintenance to equipment.
Good communication skills
Computer literate and proficient in MS Word and Excel.
Familiar with a Library management system
Minimum 5 years’ library experience
