Job Purpose
To support the faculty and department in pursuit of its academic and research objectives which include to: teach according to a set syllabus; undertake research and innovation; contribute to curriculum development and design; engage in work integrated learning, and develop service learning activities.
To facilitate teaching and learning in the Public Relations and Communication Management Diploma and Advanced Diploma. To teach and conduct assessments in the disciplines of Communication Science, Public Relations Management and Film Criticism in particular.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
 A Master's Degree in Communication/Public Relations ManagementAt least two (2) years' relevant teaching experience in Higher EducationRecommendations: Substantive knowledge of and skills in Public Relations techniques and Communication Management.Substantive experience of the standards and practices in the Public Relations and Communications industry. Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities Teach and Assess Communication Management, Public Relations Management and Film Criticism at the Diploma and Advanced Diploma levelDevelop and Co-ordinate project-based learning in the programme and across the Media DepartmentPerform appropriate academic and administrative duties (including the effective Management of Marks Administration) Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the DepartmentParticipate in researchContribute to community initiatives by integrating community interventions into curriculum.Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies on co-operative education, new techniques/technologies, and research projectsTake the lead in managing marketing and recruitment activitiesDevelop partnerships with other institution in higher education and industry for the purposes of knowledge interchange and collaboration on project based learning and research Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of DepartmentGood organizing & planning skillsAbility to work independentlyGood Technical/Professional knowledgeInterpersonal & Conflict Management SkillsStrong Learner focusCoaching & mentoring SkillsAptitude for continuous LearningA positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the growth and development of the Public Relations and Communication Management and Media Department General Information Closing Date: 31 March 2024
