Duties and responsibilities:
Contribute to curriculum development in the MBChB programme relevant to Psychiatry.Develop teaching and learning material and assessment tools.Provide quality assurance services in the undergraduate curriculum.Teach, evaluate, assess and monitor throughput of undergraduate Psychiatry modules.Provide clinical training of UFS undergraduate MBChB students and Cuban trained students.Assist with the management of assessment regarding Psychiatry modules for undergraduate students, including coordination, development, implementation, evaluation and administration of assessments.Provide student support and development.Involvement in the general academic programme of the department of Psychiatry.Conduct research related to medical education.Liaise with the head of department and lecturers in the department of Psychiatry, as well as with the Phase Ill chair, Programme Director and fellow teaching and learning coordinators in clinical departments.The successful candidate may be requested to travel to clinical training sites of the School of Clinical Medicine.
Inherent requirements:
Lecturer/ Medical Officer:An MBChB degree (NQF level 8).Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent medical practitioner.A minimum of four (4) years? clinical experience in the management of psychiatric disorders.A good academic record.
Senior Lecturer/ Medical Specialist:A MMed degree in Psychiatry (NQF level 9).Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a specialist.A minimum of four (4) years? clinical experience in the management of psychiatric disorders.A good academic record.

Recommendations:
Proven experience in teaching at undergraduate level.Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry.Postgraduate qualification in medical education.A valid driver?s license.
