IntroductionThe incumbent will plan for, design, develop, and implement learning and development interventions aligned to individual and business objectives and plans for the all-client departments (technical or core value chain) within SANBS.
Key Performance AreasKPA 1: Analyse And Define Client Learning And Development And Business NeedsConsult with line managers to identify their learning and development needs aligned to the business plans and objectives, as well as individual development plans (IDP) in the individual performance agreements (IPA).Perform a needs analysis through work area assessments.Identify and recommend appropriate remedies to address business needs and performance challenges, including learning and development interventions.Review data from various sources to assess needs for training or learning and development interventions.KPA 2: Design And Develop Appropriate Training, Learning & Development ProgrammesDesign and develop appropriate training, learning and development interventions that address the identified learning needs and or performance challenges.Ensure that all learning programmes developed are aligned to relevant registered unit standards, skills programmes, and qualifications.Liaise with the relevant education and training quality assurance bodies (ETQA).Design and develop relevant training material, including learner and facilitator guides, learning aids and assessment and moderation tools.Plan training programmes, in consultation with Head (Learning & Development – Technical 1).Assist and provide input into the selection of accredited training providers.Annually revise and update current training programmes and material.Develop e-learning programmes that are SCORM compliant for uploading and delivery via the SANBS Learner Management System (LMS).Research and develop activities and materials for continued professional development (CPD).KPA 3: Implement Training, And Learning & Development ProgrammesPlan the monthly and annual schedule in consultation with the Supervisor (Learning & Development) and Manager (Learning & Development – Technical).Facilitate training and learning & development interventions as per the training schedule.Conduct training evaluations in accordance with The Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model.Provide formal feedback to learners and Supervisor on training programmes.Monitor the attendance and delivery of training interventions to ensure training objectives have been achieved.KPA 4: Ensure Adequate Administration Support Of Record And Material Pre- And Post-Training EventEnsure adequate preparation for the training event through the booking of venues, refreshments, travel and accommodation arrangements.Ensure the availability of complete training records (attendance registers, CPD registers).Compile and file learner training records.KPA 5: Input Into Operational & Capital Expenditure (OPEX & CAPEX)Assist with analysis of training and learning & development business needs by providing input into the development of the Learning & Development Business Plan.Provide input into the identified risks and mitigation interventions applicable to learning & development operations.Ensure implementation of training interventions are done in a cost-effective manner.EducationNational Diploma in Nursing Science, Nursing Education & Nursing Management OR Equivalent Qualification.Professional registration as a Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at Intermediate level.Experience and Knowledge Requirements1 Year routine whole blood collection in blood transfusion environment.Other (Knowledge and Skills)Facilitation and Presentation skills.Skills Development Act and Relevant legislation relating to Learning and Development.Understanding of programmes, procedures and policies relating to blood donors, blood donation, SANBS business and collections department.
