Fantastic career opportunity for a Learning and Development Manager with approximately 1 years’ experience as a Learning and Development Manager to join market leader in the wholesale and distribution industry.

The person will be responsible for the delivery of business-wide training initiatives that drive the business's growth strategies.

In addition the person will be responsible for the development, coordination, delivery, tracking and reporting of employee training programs, graduate and learnership programs, and must champion organizational change.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

A relevant 3 year Degree/Diploma
5-8 years' experience in Learning & Development - at least 1 years at managerial level within Learning and Development (Essential); People Management experience (Essential)
Instructional design and e-learning development preferred
Must have a valid driver's license
Be prepared to travel monthly to Cape Town and Durban branches

Key Performance Areas:

Develop T&D strategy, policy and procedures, management of projects

Research skills development trends, legislation and best practice
Be aware of the practices and processes adopted within similar industries
Consult with line management HRl Executive to identify and develop relevant T&D strategy, policy and procedures in alignment with business and strategic objectives
Utilise available information technology resources
Propose e-learning & other technology solutions
Mange and deliver a portfolio of projects within allocated budget
Manage and maintain stakeholders through appropriate project governance
Manage portfolio execution (timelines, actions, status reporting, status meetings, deliverables, risks & issues, expenditures, etc.)
Utilise available information technology resources in the management of projects

Develop training material aligned to business and compliance needs

Develop relevant metrics and monitor progress on HR Dashboard
Develop Training material considering learner, facilitator, assessor and coach
Research appropriate content using Company subject matter experts
Quality assure all material developed
Obtain stakeholder sign off of outcomes, objectives and performance standards as well as content and methodology
Develop material in line with the needs of business within the parameters of the SETA requirements and unit standards
Consult with business on desired outcomes of training material
Define learning outcomes at the appropriate level
Address the learner's needs and assess the key outcomes linked to business needs
Define the ROI or benefits realization measures of the programme
Manage service providers regarding learning material design and development

Budget and Administration Management and Reporting

Track and manage expenditure against budget
Approve payments to suppliers/service providers and forwarding to HR Executive for final approval
Maintain records of relevant HR matters such as Training Days, RoE etc., cross referring this information to identify trends, correlations, causes, etc. and compiling and distributing reports and statistics with analysis and recommendations

Manage Human Resources

Manage head counts within agreed budgets
Achieve Employment Equity targets
Maintain effective leave planning and absenteeism management
Facilitate training and development interventions
Review performance in discussion with employees, agree ratings and set goals for new period
Continuously communicate and provide constructive feedback and coaching to employees
Take disciplinary action where required
