They are looking for a dynamic Lead Quality Engineer to be responsible to apply Engineering principles & Analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and productsKEY RESPONSIBILITIESImplement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panel, etc.Manage and direct statistical process control activitiesKnowledge of and ability to execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysisIdentify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficientlyMonitor quality target levelsProvide input for design and assembly concepts which will yield nominal variationsEstablish critical characteristics for gauging and measuring data collection methodsDetermine inspection equipment and facility requirementsSupport expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams including the Quality Department, Production and SuppliersReview internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibilityReview incoming quality concerns to maintain quality with assigned area; must have experience with initiating containment, determining root cause and implementing corrective actionsResponsible for leading Quality Operating System initiatives within the production departmentProvide Quality support to production departmentReview with production team leaders and Process Coaches quality issues and be the point of contact with other departments such as Bodyshop, TCF, AQA and MP&L.Coordinate during quality concerns containment actions, dock holds, special checks to eliminate any impact to customer.Manage quality documentation on First Time Through, 8Ds, Scrap, TH Holds, Campaigns etc.Prepare standard reports for Quality reviews within the plant and with other areas.Lead cross-functional team initiatives in quality to achieve no faults forward / zero defects.Lead 8D resolution of Warranty and VO (Vehicle Operation) concerns working together with Quality, Material Planning & Logistics, Machining and VO.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREDDegree/National Diploma in Quality / Chemical / Mechanical / Operations ManagementA minimum of 5 years experience in a Paint Shop, Leading TeamsQuality Management and Analysis Systems such as: QDAS (Data Analysis System for Capability and Trouble Shooting), Quality Worx, QLS (Quality Leadership System); engineering workstation; Microsoft Office ToolsMust have high attention detail mentalityGood interpersonal and communication skills
