Lead Applications Scientist - Personal Care Raw Materials - Manufacturing

Minimum requirements for the role:Must have a Minimum Masters BSc.Degree in Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry or Material Sciences or Biology or related degree is essential.Previousexperience having worked within the Personal Care industry ideally within the Hair Care markets is pref.Experience gained working in Skin Care, Body Care, Colour Cosmetics, Sun care etc markets is pref.The successful candidate should have a good understanding of cosmetic formulations and with previous formulation experience being crucial.The candidate should have excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills and must have proficient computer skills.Previous experience relating to formulation development and product claims testing ideally within the Hair Care markets is pref.The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications as well Minitab Statistical Software experience is pref.The successful candidate must be very good in Statistics.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Creating and developing formulations, conducting analyses and writing reports as well interpreting results for customers.Conducting claims testers on fiction testing and fatigue tester, using microscope, testing hair care and creating new hair care claims.Design and carrying out laboratory experiments, as well as reviewing results and seeking answers to problems encountered through collection of data and investigation.Working closely with Marketing and Sales team both locally and internationally.Providing technical support service to the Sales and Marketing teamsLiaising with customers regarding technical enquiries, recommending products, training sessions, participating in customer technical visits & training.Working directly with customers to assess or develop formulations.Support new product launches and existing product ranges with a creative and viable approach, including development of new test methodologies, or developing new and novel finished formulations for promotional means.Leading consumer testing projects, analysing and evaluating statistical data, interpreting the results by linking the data to popular consumer related claims and providing feedback to the project teams.Enhancing the knowledge of relevant application and market areas with projects that will include shorter term customer work requests and working towards delivering the groups longer-term NPD plan.Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
