Launch Engineer

Job Description:Responsible for all non-recurring events and deliverables associated with the launch of individual product changes. Responsible for meeting all program launch targets at the right quality and cost while meeting all scorecard items related to launch managementResponsibilities:Track and co-ordinate all Plant Launch activities. (Launch includes new product introduction and engineering changes along with transfers on products that are currently in production)Manages the product launch and plant rearrangement from current to new platformsManage resource and training requirements for pre-buildsAdherence to Business operating systems and direction setting to the plant teamLaunch cost budget creation and managementDrive and coordinate Launch review meetingsCo-ordinate and ensure facility readiness and build dates are met for all sample buildsCo-ordinate and manage all process sign-off events, power build and run at rate activitiesSupport and track PPAP submissionsCross functional co-ordination with internal and external stakeholders eg. customer, suppliers and contractorsInterface with CBU Program Management, internal company departments to ensure timely launchEnsure all APQP documents are in place and completed deliverableOnce tools are delivered to the plant the Launch Manager/Plant Manager must approve all engineering change implementation for the purpose of assuring a successful Launch, PPAP or any other customerQualification / Experience:Engineering Degree or Diploma (NQF level 5), mechanical or industrial fieldProject and/or Programme Management experienceMinimum of 3 years experience in automotive industryParticipation in 1 new Product Start-UpAutoCad
