Our client requires the services of a Junior Project Manager. FMCG/Production. This is an urgent requirement. POSITION: Contract Role for 12 months - Full-time onsite (possible renewal). COMMENCEMENT : 1 April 2024 REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Food Science or an equivalent technical degree Has managed projects >$1.5m. (ZAR 28.5m) Knowledge of processing, utilities, civils and packaging equipment in the liquid food industry Experience in the Brewing or malting industry is preferred Proven experience in solving technical project-related problems with pragmatic solutions Track record of effectively managing contractors in a continuous planning, organising and controlling cycle. Key Attributes and Competencies: 2-3 years of Project Management Experience including 1-2 years of engineering experience preferred Work quickly and accurately under pressure. Communicate effectively to a wide range of stakeholders. Manage multiple projects in areas across the site by ensuring clear delegation of duties and effective communication processes and decision-making. Attributes: Process-orientated and assertive to ensure that complex projects are executed by well-proven and established practices and safety requirements Bias for action based on logical problem-solving and experience. THE ROLE: Execution of capital projects according to established project management practices, including but not limited to: Development of high-level scopes into detailed scopes to RFQ level of detail Confirm global technical standards are adhered to during scope development Develop project charters based on the detailed scopes for sign-off for execution Participate as required in the technical supplier adjudications to assist with appropriate appointments Take the lead in managing the detailed integration design, to ensure that different work packages fit together Ensure that FATs, Hazops and quality assurance interventions are carried out and participate as required Management of the Change process is implemented Develop and agree on a realistic project time plan that meets the business requirements Set up and manage a project risk register Ensure that appropriate contractors are appointed and managed to carry out project execution Ensure established procurement processes are followed for scope changes, variation orders etc. Implement and follow approved project procedures, safety plans, milestone sign-offs and authorisation levels Manage project budgets and project cash flow forecasts Manage Operational Readiness requirements so that Production staff have the training, and systems in place to operate the equipment per VPO Liaise with the staff to agree on and carry out scheduled tie-ins that minimise production stoppages Prepare a handover pack to enable the successfully complete of the projects butt lists, PATs and as-built documentation. Provide management support to ensure that the finishing phase is properly completed
