A well-established Engineering company based in Germiston is looking for a Junior Project Engineer to work in a process project driven environment.
The purpose of a Junior Project Engineer is to be responsible for communication between engineering departments as well as the execution and management of engineering activitities for specific projects in a process design and construction environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure project technical quality is in accordance with contract requirements and approved project design criteria. Complete all work according to project schedule. Ensure that the technical integrity and scope definition is maintained Ensure that the project scope and quality requirements are clearly defined and agreed, and that change control procedures are adhered to. Close out engineering work according to procedures and archive useful information gained and lessons learnt. Ensure that all project engineering documentation and drawings are adequately prepared, filed,secured, and transmitted in accordance with project and company procedures Assist the Project Engineer with project planning, scheduling, costing and technical assistance. Generate scope of work documentation. Request quotations from vendors and review specifications and costs. Review vendor documentation in the form of schedules, datasheets, calculations, drawings and fabrication procedures. Technical adjudications on mechanical equipment. Engineering material investigations and trade-offs. Internal drawing reviews Maintain and work according to a project scope and general plant design criteriria. Maintain and works to a realistic and sufficiently detailed schedule to achieve project delivery. Control the flow of technical information from/to the client, suppliers and the Lead Discipline Engineers, ensuring quick and effective communication and record keeping.

Qualifiactions
N.Dip: Mechanical Engineering.Essential
BTech: Mechanical Engineering .Desirable
BSc Eng Degree: Mechanical Engineering.Desirable
Memberships
Experience Requirements
Project and/or Packages Management (Including budgeting).1 Year.Essential Engineering work relating to process plants including studies, basic engineering, and detailed engineering.1 Year.Essential Engineering design experience on process related projects.1 Year. Desirable
Job Knowledge Required
Basic materials of construction-Essential Valve specifications – ASME B16.34-Desirable Flange and pipe fittings specifications – ASME B16.5; ASME B16.11; SANS 1123, BS 4504-Desirable
