About the RoleThe Junior Accountant supports the Safarinow Finance department by assisting with the accurate and timely processing of invoices, billing of receivables/refunds, cash book processing, and ensuring all accounting records are accurate and up to date.
This role works closely with the Financial Administrator and provides transactional support to internal teams and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:AccountingInvoice Processing:Invoice trade debtors within 5 working days of booking confirmation.Ensure accurate matching of invoices to site details and vouchers from corporate debtors.Allocate debtor payments accurately and in a timely manner.Resolve account issues with internal teams and corporate clients.Reporting:Send monthly statements to corporate clients within 3 working days of the month-end.Creditor Payments:Assist with processing trade payments and SWIFT payments as needed.Process and capture supplier invoices on Sage Evolution.Ensure creditors' policies and procedures are followed.General Accounting Admin:Update records for payment statuses, banking details, and related changes.Support audits and perform ad-hoc accounting tasks.Monitor finance email tickets and respond appropriately.Cash Management:Import bank statements and perform reconciliations using Sage EvolutionManage petty cash and ensure proper recordkeeping.Liaise with banking institutions as required.Audit & Tax Support:Compile and organise documentation for external audit support.Assist with queries and documentation relating to tax compliance.Stakeholder RelationsProvide transactional support to the Corporate Team.Liaise with suppliers and corporate clients.Respond to internal and external inquiries promptly and professionally.Communicate proactively with debtors and creditors.Skills & ExperienceTertiary Qualification in AccountingMinimum 2 years' relevant work experienceTechnical SkillsProficient in Sage Evolution Accounting, MS Excel, Internet Banking, and MS Office SuiteFamiliar with general business principles and accounting proceduresUnderstanding of call centre processes is advantageousPersonal CompetenciesAttention to DetailAnalytical ThinkingTime ManagementIntegrity & ConfidentialityProactive & Self-MotivatedStrong Communication SkillsAdaptability & ResilienceProblem-Solving AbilityOrganizational SkillsTransparency in financial transactionsSeeks guidance when requiredLearns from feedback and challengesDevelops solutions to recurring financial issuesUnderstands the broader financial impact of accounting functionsAbout the teamThe Safarinow Finance Team is a dynamic and collaborative group responsible for financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
