Junior Accountant

Job Overview:An established and growing Civil Construction business, operating in the Eastern Cape and KZN, is looking for an Junior Accountant to join their team. This role will report to the Financial Accountant, as well as the Finance Manager. Minimum Requirements / Experience:Minimum requirements:Degree/Diploma in Accounting2+ years of experience in a finance departmentVehicle and valid Driver's LicenseRequired knowledge / experience:Solid Accounting knowledge, from processing to Financial StatementsWorking knowledge of BEE codes and practices (highly advantageous)Sound knowledge of financial statements and accountingResponsibilities:Overall, this position will assist the Finance Manager and other senior staff members with any allocated work, related to finance/accounting and BBBEE. Duties may include but not be limited to:Processing bank statements / cashbookPreparing for auditAssisting with Creditors at month-endAssisting with Wages at month-endPreparing for BBBEE external/internal audits, and being responsible for theseCompetencies / Skills:Good numerical ability/grasp of numbersStrong attention to detailAdvanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting softwareStrong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
