In consultation with the Academic Department Head (ADH); undertake the following:. Co-ordinate activities of the Teaching and Learning Programmes for the Department of Agricultural Economics; to ensure that the programmes are undertaken in accordance with the policy and regulatory frameworks of the Department of Higher Education Training (DHET), the University of the Free State (UFS) and the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (NAS).. Take responsibility of the academic quality of the programmes in the Department and co-ordinate changes in the rulebook, prospectuses and other approved material.. Provide general academic leadership in the Department’s academic programmes and co-ordinate alignment and academic coherence across all various modules of the academic programmes.. Co-ordinate the curriculation processes of the academic programmes for the Department to ensure that they stay relevant and meet the needs of the job market.. Co-ordinate the development and monitoring of Teaching and Learning operational and quality enhancement implementation plans of the programmes for the Department.. Manage matters relating to the administration of teaching, learning and students in the Academic Programmes for the Department effectively (such as co-ordination of classes, contact sessions, test and exam time tables, contact practical exams, student orientation and department days related activities).. Provide academic advice in terms of academic inquiries, amendments of yearbooks, schedules, timetables, applications, selection, admission, registration etc. related to the Teaching and Learning programmes.. Co-ordinate the promotion of programmes for the department through involvement in marketing and advertising activities of the Department and the Faculty as necessary and serve on or liaise with the marketing committee of the Faculty as necessary.. Manage the selection, admission and registration of students in the Department’s academic programmes.. Inherent requirements:. A PhD on NQF level 10 in Agricultural Economics or Agricultural Management.. A full-time, permanent member of the academic staff of the Department of Agricultural Economics.. Results Orientated:.
