Details Please follow and like us:The Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services (JICS) invites South African citizens to apply for Independent Correctional Centre Visitor (ICCV) positions across multiple correctional centres in South Africa.
These are 36-month contract positions aimed at strengthening oversight, accountability, and human rights within correctional centres.
Position: Independent Correctional Centre Visitor (ICCV)Salary: R85 620 per annum (3/8th, Level 05)Plus: 37% in lieu of benefitsContract Term: 36 monthsRequirements:Senior Certificate / Grade 12Computer literacyRecommendation letter from a community organisation (not older than 6 months)Must be public spirited and demonstrate knowledge of Batho Pele principlesStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to work under pressure and independentlyA driver's licence is an added advantagePreference will be given to applicants residing near the specific correctional centres listedDuties:Daily visits to correctional centresEngage with inmates and Department of Correctional Services (DCS) officialsMonitor conditions of incarceration and report on findingsRecord and report deaths, segregation, use of restraints, and forceSupport JICS officials during inspections and investigationsHandle and capture inmate complaintsDraft detailed reports and conduct administrative dutiesHow to Apply:Submit your application via email to the relevant regional email address, using the Post Reference Number in the subject line.
