Job Description
Purpose
Reporting to the Head: ICT Operations. The ICT Operations Manager will be responsible for securely, effectively and efficiently ensuring that the ICT Facilities and services are procured, maintained and made available at the agreed quality, service levels and agreed times to enable business to fulfil their purpose.
Qualifications and Experience Required
NQF Level 7: Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field
5 to 7 years’ experience of which 5 must be in managerial position
ICT Application support
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Manage and control ICT infrastructure, assets and facilities:
Manage and control ICT infrastructure and facilities
Manage the ICT operational resources
Manage and control the various ICT Assets including Desktop, Laptops, Notebooks, Tablet, Telephones, Faxes, Printers, Scanners.
Manage and configure the Server environment
Responsible for technology, capacity and performance
Manage and control the disaster recovery/business continuity process, plans and site in case of a disaster
Prepare and manage the request for proposal process for the procurement of ICT equipment and assets
Procure ICT equipment and assets within budget, through the relevant procurement processes
Responsible for the refresh and procurement of ICT equipment and assets
Manage failover and system requirement for business continuity
Manage ICT security and cyber security breaches
Manage and secure enterprise information
Manage customer service and query resolution and application support maintenance:
Manage the activities associated with the identification, prioritisation and resolution of reported problems
Ensure that all phases of support are properly coordinated, monitored, logged, tracked and resolved appropriately.
Ensure that the service provided by the operations team to the business, is of quality and supports the business needs
Provide users with advice and guidance on the use and trends of information and communication technologies
Manage ICT contracts, licenses and supplier relationships:
Define, set-up and manage SLA’s
Manage ICT contracts including negotiations and execution of service level agreements
Maintain ICT related licences by ensuring that they are sufficient, relevant and renewed; procure additional when required
Liaise with suppliers/service providers by ensuring that service levels are met and escalate where services are not provided or not according to standards and agreed service levels
Provide team support:
Provide operations staff with advice and guidance on day to day planning. Provide guidance on trouble shooting and resolving complex technical issues
Define, set-up and manage KPA’s
Ensure that the ITIL and COBIT standards and procedures are implemented and adhered to by operations staff
Responsible for the Quality Assurance Processes by ensuring that services delivered meet requirements and are of an acceptable quality
Manage the day-to-day operations of the teams by providing management (employee relations, annual leave, sick leave, training, scheduling etc.) and technical support to the ICT business support teams (business analysts, systems testers, clinical coders and testers) on a day-to-day and on an ongoing basis
Financial and Risk Management:
Compile and manage the ICT budget
Monitor and track financial expenses
Compliance to relevant legislation
Manage IT Audits and findings
