It Field Technician

Experience:

1-2 years working experience in a similar IT outsource services environment- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Duties and responsibilities:

Technical support service: included but not limited to;
1. Remote IT Support
2. On-site IT support
• Software installations (Both onsite and remote)
• New installations (Both onsite and remote)
• Desktop support (Both onsite and remote)
• Home networks (Both onsite and remote)
• Wireless connections (Both onsite and remote)
• Business networking (Both onsite and remote)
• Servers (Both onsite and remote)
• Firewalls (Both onsite and remote)
3. Server monitoring
4. Workshop repairs
5. Workshop orders
6. Email administration
7. ISP fault reporting
8. Firewall administration
Typical tasks:

In-office Helpdesk assistance via telephone, e-mail and remote connections;
In-office Server maintenance and monitoring as well as administrating critical backup solutions;
On-site customer and network support for office environments where users make use of MS Office, Pastel, Sage, Quickbooks, VIP etc.
Install and implement desktop and notebook computers on Windows Active Directory domains;
Install and implement Windows servers;
Configuration and deployment of Office 365 Exchange and other solutions;
Configuration and maintenance of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, SQL Server;
Set up and configure e-mail in Outlook;
Set up and troubleshooting of printers;
Set up and troubleshooting of firewalls (Cyberoam, Sophos) and routers (Mikrotik, Hauwei);
Set up and troubleshooting of wireless networks (Ubiquity);
Removal of malware and virus infections;
Assembly and repair of computer, notebook and server hardware;
Installation of Windows operating systems;
Troubleshoot network and connectivity problems in internal networks as well as with fibre and wireless service providers
Install and terminate UTP cabling

Attributes:

• be able to work effectively as an individual or as part of a team;
• have excellent communication skills (verbal as well as writing) in English and/or Afrikaans;
• be extremely well organised and have a systematic approach to problem solving.
• Logical reasoning ability
• Ability to manage time effectively

Qualifications:

Gr12
A+ certification
N+ certification

Drivers license: Required

Language proficiency: Fluent in both English and Afrikaans
