Duties included:Guide and manage the overall provision of IR services for the regionDevelop an overall IR strategy with measurable objectives for the regionManage the staffing requirements of the IR department to effectively serve the needs of the regionEnsure compliance in respect of all matters related to IR and/or labour including but not limited to the following legislation; LRA, BCEA, EEA, SDA, OHSA and Employment Services ActProvide training to managers and employees on all IR and /or labour related matters including chairing and representing in disciplinary inquiries, dealing with the absconding procedure, drafting charges etc.Effectively manage the IR Officer/s and IR AdministratorEnsure all internal IR and/or labour related matters, including disciplinary inquiries poor work performance, incapacity, retrenchments, grievances, strikes, CCMA and bargaining council matters are recorded and keptEnsuring that all IR related Policies and Procedures are up to date and compliant with current legislation and case lawProduce monthly stats reports for management including analysis of trends and/or challenges, concerns and risksEnsure that all stats are provided to the Group's Internal Audit and Risk Manager, as and when requestedObjectively measure and manage the performance of staff within the departmentIdentify, attract and retain talented staff and staff in key/critical positionsIdentify areas of development for staff Qualifications and requirements:Degree in Labour Law or related5+ years experience in similar role Willing to travel
