CHELCO, a progressive member-owned electric utility in DeFuniak Springs, seeks an IT Network Engineer to engineer and support IT projects, maintain integration between mission-critical software applications, monitor and maintain current network infrastructure, work with vendors, ensure compliance with security goals and policies, and update when needed.
The following qualifications and skills are required: associate degree and at least five years of related experience, or a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least four years of related experience in an enterprise IT Environment.
CompTIA A+, Network +, Project +, Security +, or (ISC)2 SSCP or (ISC)2 CISSP, and CISCO CCNA preferred, with Cisco CCNP certifications desired.
Must have the following skills and abilities: critical thinking-using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches; systems analysis skills-to determine how systems should work and how changes will affect outcomes; complex problem solving-to identify problems and review information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions; judgment and decision making-to consider the costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Must provide excellent customer service, by telephone, in writing, e-mail, or in person.
Must have previous knowledge of and experience in:
Computers and Electronics-- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Administering Microsoft physical and virtual servers and Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access controllers, and VPNs is required.
As well as compliance with security standards and policies following ITIL, NERC, & NIST SP 800-53, SP 800-171, SP 800-172 Standards.Customer Service -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
Including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.English Language-- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.Must meet criteria to obtain access credentials for the U.S. government installations included in the Eglin AFB Utility Privatization contract.

We have six area offices, including our headquarters in DeFuniak Springs.
