This is a full-time role that will be based in Kenya, South Africa, or Rwanda.
The HR Senior Manager will play a key role in running the HR function for ~50 staff across our rapidly growing Africa presences.Reporting to the People/Talent Lead(s) and liaising with colleagues across the globe, this role will manage a growing team of ~2-3 professionals in the People function.
The HR Senior Manager's role will be to lead processes and initiatives across multiple HR aspects including, but not limited to recruiting, performance management, training, onboarding/offboarding, policies and compliance, staff satisfaction, etc.
This role is both strategic as well as implementation focused.Qualifications and ExperienceAbility to detect and anticipate HR needs to meet Dalberg's growth objectives while ensuring the well-being of employees.Experience in attracting, recruiting, developing, motivating, and retaining talent in a fast-paced culture.Excellent understanding of trends, innovations, and best practices in human capital development.Critical thinking, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.Proven ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.Mastery of HR/labor law legislation in relevant countries.Experience managing HR staff to implement business strategies.Experience working with senior management.Experience in a strategic position in professional services companies or multinational companies.Experience working in Africa and/or other developing contexts.Bachelor's degree minimum.At least 7 years of professional experience, with at least 4 years in an HR-focused role.Fluency in English and French.Relational and Emotional Skills RequiredEmpathy and strong communication skills.Intercultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.Pragmatism in managing employee expectations.Responsiveness and ability to promote relevant internal developments.Sensitivity and discretion in handling information.Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.Desired Digital SkillsAbility to learn and use software packages such as Deltek Maconomy and Talent.Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint).Knowledge of social media and professional networks.What You Will Do and How You Will GrowKey responsibilities include:Leadership of the People FunctionBuild and grow the People function for the Africa region with a focus on developing critical People initiatives.Drive the optimization of business processes in accordance with group policies.Staff OversightServe as a resource for staff concerns or grievances.Manage the internal HR ERP system and regional employee information.HR ComplianceWork with legal partners to ensure policies are aligned with the law.Lead engagement with Employer-on-Record providers.Ensure quality assurance of timesheets and leave/absence reporting.Talent Acquisition and RetentionCreate a recruitment and retention strategy.Conduct pyramid planning and identify recruitment needs.Support end-to-end recruitment processes and onboarding.Performance ManagementStrengthen performance management processes.Provide guidance on performance improvement plans.HR Team ManagementLead, manage, and motivate team members in the People function.What We OfferA collaborative, flat, and entrepreneurial organization.A uniquely talented and diverse team.A culture supportive of employee work/life balance.Competitive benefits and career development opportunities.Join Our TeamYour application should be submitted via our Career Center before 24th January 2025 and should include a resume and cover letter.Dalberg is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
