Recruitment:Identification of positions to be filled by Line ManagementCoordinate the interviews and shortlist candidates for all positionsCoordinate the appointment process, appointment letters, etcTraining:Assist and advise line managers to identify training and development needsAdvise and monitor individual development plans for key employees for succession planning and employment equity candidatesDraw up site training plans in conjunction with line managersSchedule employees and arrange for trainingKeep records of training for the financial yearEmployment Equity:Ensure EE meetings are held every quarterEnsure that Employment Equity members are trained and developed with company EE plansParticipate in drafting of EE plans for the siteIndustrial Relations:Ensure adherence and implementation of union/ management agreementsSchedule monthly management/ union meetingsProper knowledge and interpretation of relevant industrial legislationAdvise line management on IR matters in line with legislationAdvise on disciplinary and counselling sessions on site and maintain fairnessBuild relations with trade union formations on sitePerformance Management:Manage performance contractingAdvise line management on performance managementManage and advise on succession planningAdvise line management on poor work performance processesRequired Minimum qualifications:Bachelors'' degree (NQF7) in HR/ related fieldRequired Minimum Experience:At least 5 years of experience in similar roleRecommended skill, knowledge and qualities:Strong IR experienceKnowledge of various case lawsAbility to work in a dynamic and strong unionised environmentExcellent communication skills- proficient in English and XhosaGood time management skillsAbility to work under pressureAbility to interface with people at all levels and be able to handle conflict and train others to do the same
