An opportunity has just become available in Homeware department for a resilient, innovative and resourceful Buyer who can add value to our Loads of Living Team through the successful trending, sourcing and procurement of Homeware merchandise.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to significantly contribute towards the achievement of our department and business objectives as well as have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.
The candidate must have proven work experience to work with a buying and design to deliver a commercial range. It is essential that you have experience of sourcing and product development with a design team /suppliers and can demonstrate proven negotiation and presentation skills. You must have good commercial awareness, the ability to work under pressure and an excellent eye for product.
Key Responsibilities
· Range preparation, coordination and presentation.
· Range execution in alignment with the business objectives.
· Presenting range reviews.
· Product Development.
· Sourcing of suppliers and new products.
· Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
· Negotiate and manage supplier contracts.
· Effectively collaborating with the relevant stakeholders and departments.
· Overseeing the Product Quality and Suitability.
· Controlling sample stock.
· General buying administrative functions.
Requirements
· Relevant tertiary qualification is required.
· Minimum of 5 years of retail merchandise buying experience is essential.
· Experience working in a Homeware retail environment is advantageous.
· Working knowledge of the retail cycle and merchandise buying principles and processes.
· A working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages is required.
