We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team.As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients.
You will work closely with all departments to identify potential hazards and risks, as well as provide training and support to promote a culture of safety throughout the organisation.Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsConduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risksCollaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety protocols are followed on all job sitesProvide safety training and education to employees and contractorsInvestigate and report any accidents or incidents, and make recommendations for preventionMaintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, and inspectionsStay up to date on industry standards and regulations, and make necessary updates to company policies and proceduresDevelop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparednessCommunicate safety regulations and procedures to clients and subcontractorsConduct safety orientations for new employees and contractorsManage safety budget and ensure cost-effective solutions are implementedRequirements:Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.Registered in terms of SACPCMP as a CHSO, (Candidate CHSO will also be acceptable certificate)Samtrac qualification (or equivalent accredited qualification); SACPCMP registrationAt least 5 years' experience in the HSE environment preferably in ConstructionExperience in the implementation and maintenance of safety systems in the workplace according to the OHS ACT & RegulationsWorking on heights qualification (accredited training certificate).Fall Protection Planner qualification (accredited training certificate).Preliminary Incident Investigation qualification (accredited training certificate).Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g.
CSP, CIH) is preferred.Skills:Strong leadership and communication skills.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Proven track record of implementing and maintaining successful health and safety programs.
