Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.Direct message the job poster from Mr Price GroupYour purposeThe Head of Commercial Supply Chain plays a pivotal role in strategically overseeing and optimising all aspects of the supply chain for the Mr Price Group, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations while aligning with the company's commercial objectives to drive profitability and customer satisfaction.A typical day would look like this:Strategic Management:Lead the provision of ongoing direct and strategic commercial support and insights for the Logistics/Supply Chain teamDevelop and implement commercial strategies to achieve divisional growthEnsure an effective logistics strategy that intelligently deploys capabilities to optimise the use of inventory and resourcesMonitor market trends and competitor insights to identify key risks and opportunities, building a response in collaboration with key stakeholders across the businessLeverage data and market research to identify strategic commercial opportunities and new developments in line with business strategyIdentify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to minimise disruptionsOperational Excellence:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the supply chain, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectivenessImplement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performanceCollaborate with various departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfactionDrive a clear and compelling commercial strategy for the division to align with the Group's strategy, vision, and missionOversee the commercial input for responses to proposal requests from potential principals or customers, ensuring compliance with proposal requirements and alignment with the business strategyLead the commercial input for all new investment opportunities and the preparation of Capex motivations to support sustainable investmentConduct new project appraisals and feasibility assessmentsStakeholder Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teamsCommunicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration on supply chain initiativesIdentify, build, and nurture trust and collaborative relationships with key partners, both internal and external, including regulators, government, and suppliersRegularly evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery reliabilityLead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvementProvide guidance and support to team members, ensuring their professional development and growthDrive succession, talent management, training, and development within the team to ensure resource capability and business continuityDrive and coordinate cross-functional collaboration to align supply chain activities with overall business objectivesStrategically build and develop financial models to support supply chain initiatives and decision-makingAnalyse financial data to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvementsWhat are the requirements?Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
A post graduate qualification is preferred.
