Job Details Test Division Summary Job Purpose Partner with business providing IT leadership and strategic input to enable and support the realisation of the BU strategy and the greater IT strategy. Accountable for planning, organising, delivery and maintenance of business solutions and features within the specified program portfolio. Accountable for the end to end delivery and availability of IT Services to support the specific Business Unit/Area in partnership with Group IT (GIT). Support business with total cost and information security risk management. Engagement with a spectrum of business and senior leadership to facilitate decisions and positive outcomes for the Bank Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Execute on strategic direction, leadership and governance of the Information Technology for a specific IT program portfolio: Execute strategic and operational plans to meet the IT needs of the Program portfolio and ensure that IT capabilities are responsive to the needs of the line of business’ growth and operational objectivesDefinethe overall technological direction of the IT program portfolio in participation with architecture and alignment with the Group IT and line of Business IT strategyAccountable for the budget and cost of the IT program portfolio to the Line of Business/ Function, managing the IT budget on behalf of business taking full accountability of IT cost , reporting on the financials in consultation with Group IT FinanceManage the financial risk of the IT Portfolio monitoring the expenditure and assessing the health of the unit in consultation with IT FinanceDrive governance and monitors and reports on funding, programme execution, identified measures and necessary compliance, Constantly evaluate options to improve the governance requirementsEscalate decisions where contention exist due to conflicting priorities based on line of business IT strategies, roadmaps or requirementsParticipate in the relevant Boards, management committees and governance forums (e.g. Line of Business IT Exco, Risk and Control Committee, Signature Programme Boards) injecting experience and insightsManage delivery of vendors and 3rd parties, ensuring that the IT team and third party providers are responsive to the audit assessments or reviews Improve Feature Team capability with Engineering Leads on both the technical and managerial/leadership competenciesExecute on the line of business Information Technology strategy by overseeing the delivery and maintenance of business solutions and features for a specific IT program portfolio (mix between co-ordination and system/platform management): Support programme execution remaining accountable for the end-to-end delivery of all the identified programmes in the portfolio by being accountable for business leader engagement and overseeing portfolio level reportingDirect the development, implementation and maintenance of business features and solutions for the line of business by ensuring the required capacity is available for the program portfolio delivery requirements, in conjunction with the Engineering LeadsSupport the Release train engineers (RTE) and Feature teams by removing impediments, breaking down barriers with the business community and managing escalations that may impact delivery.Listen and support teams in problem identification, root cause analysis, and decision-making by participating in planning, various workshops and system demonstrations during iterations of delivery by being “in the work” and participating in labs, reviews and showcasesEstablish program level cadence and drive program level ceremonies (e.g. PI Planning, Product Management Council, Scrum of Scrums, release train retrospectives, Sprint)Work with the System Architect/ Engineer, Product Managers, and Product Owners to establish clear content authority , continuously assist in aligning teams to the system mission and visionSet-up integrated planning and co-ordination processes with other IT Program portfolio ensuring cross-value stream coordination and collaboration, keeping backlogs and information dashboards fully visible during the development and delivery of a complete business feature or solution managing the dependencies, progress and risksAble the support of the new features and solutions in production by incorporating appropriate Level 2 support staff into the feature teams, enabling the feature teams to build and run both the new and existing productDrive capacity for RTE and Feature Analyst, collaborating with Engineering Leads, to build the supply, pipeline, recruiting and on-boarding of resources in order to meet the programme needs, appointing staff within budget constraintsMonitor and maximise the Information Technology Service delivery to line of business, proactively managing the business impact on a specific IT program portfolio: Identify and oversee the planning of required IT services for the specific program portfolio based on business demand and change programmes, in conjunction with the infrastructure and operations functionsLead the identification of critical systems and business processes (Customer impact maps), designing the communication strategy and plan to address service outages and customer/business impact, in conjunction with the business portfolio stakeholdersNegotiate, monitor and report the Service level performance of all IT services on behalf of the line of business/function, managing the escalation of service level exceptions with relevant Group IT stakeholdersOversee service availability management (monitor, identify, remediate and report), performing capacity analysis in consultation with Group IT stakeholders, analysing the impact of maintenance schedule changes on IT services and planning disaster recovery and failover planningEnsure appropriate prioritisation of IT service (production and IT Maintenance) backlog items in consultation with the product owners/managersUnderstand risks associated with loss of availability of service leading proactive incident /problem management based on Root causes/trends and identify and manage Technology risk and IT security engagement with the Information Security OfficersCommunicate with business stakeholders during incident and resolution processes, specifically during high business impact incidents, providing updates on appropriate platforms e.g. Whatsapp and managing issues with the appropriate business service owner/manager and Feature Team(s) through to resolutionQuantify potential operational losses and track operational losses incurred due to IT service disruptions (supported by line of business Finance)Advise business on Customer impact as a result of outages, considering customer needs as part of remedial action (communication action plans and business recovery) ensuring front line resources are in a position to manage customer impact and are not placed in reactive positionsOversee the provision of metrics and dashboards used as input to plan and manage remedial efforts and service management improvement initiatives in order to achieve agreed service levelsMake visible and optimise the total cost of ownership, benefits and improve the information security posture for a specific IT program portfolioWork with finance to determine the total cost of ownership of applications and infrastructure, utilising this information to inform recommendations for change or efficiency improvements to the line of business executivesRequired to manage the total cost of ownership, understand the implications and partner with Group IT partners in order to influence the other IT costs where possibleEnable the achievement of strategic cost saving initiatives, and initiatives around benefits realisation related to the overall technology landscapeMonitor and track the expenditure of the line of business IT investment plan assessing when a change in approach is required (value streams/release trains/feature teams) and recommending remedial actions where necessaryMonitor the IT value derived against planned business goals and objectives, through engagement with business and product ownersEnsure commercial frugality based on affordability, maximising returns from IT investments by improving operational
