Description:

We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.

Key Performance Areas
Manage the process underlying the production of the financial consolidation for the Group (annual statutory reporting);
Identify areas of improvement within the consolidation process in an effort to increase accuracy, reduce reporting timelines and automation;
Build robust processes for the preparation of the financial sections and any required supporting analysis for statutory reporting;
Ensure the development and deployment of standardised Group reporting hierarchies to enable consistent reporting;
Manage the timetable for the year end and interim results while coordinating with finance teams as well as the auditors;
Provide technical guidance to the local finance functions on IFRS issues, disclosure items, new accounting standards and complex accounting matters;
Provide relevant financial input to presentations for use at management, board and investor meetings;
Interpreting the consolidated data and providing concise explanations on trends and variances
Identify areas for performance improvement and any adjustments to organisation, tools, processes and people as necessary;
Develop group reporting resources in the group through clearly understood roles, responsibilities and performance objectives, regular feedback and continuing professional training;
Provide accurate and timely financial information, reports and analysis including formats, processes and systems;
Establish communication and rapport building with stakeholders;
Perform periodic and year end closing, in coordination with the concerned departments/divisions/shared service, including periodic IFRS financial statements for external and internal reporting including the processes supporting these within desired timelines;
Manage the preparation of financial information for input to Audit Committee;
Own the group standard chart of accounts;
Provide technical support during acquisitions and matters pertaining to bedding down the reporting and processes for acquisitions; this includes overall accounting practice and IFRS;
Oversee the Group's tax function and liaise with external tax experts with regards to obtaining tax legal opinions, that could benefit the organization ensuring compliance at all times with SARS/ other regulatory entities.

Leadership
Work with External and Internal Auditors to ensure the smooth execution of these processes;
Support team in their professional development (mentor and motivate team members);
Identify competency and qualification needs and recommendation of appropriate measures (training, qualifications, etc.).

Relationship
Cooperate and interact with internal and external auditors;
Lead/ Coordinate the consolidation process with UK and Australia during interim and year end to ensure deadlines are met;
Work collaboratively with other departments to manage the preparation of financial information to Audit Committee;
Work collaboratively with other departments to deliver consolidated group reports in a timely manner.

Skills and attributes
Solid knowledge of finance management, financial and accounting processes
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of IFRS and ability to solve complex accounting/ technical issues
Analytical thinking
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work long hours and under pressure
Problem solving abilities
Proactive in approach and thinking

Experience
5 -8 years Financial management and reporting experience and working with external auditors
Listed Entity experience is essential

Qualification
Honours Degree – Accounting/ Post-graduate qualification in Taxation is advantageous
